Bacon is excellent with Sunday brunch fixings or on a turkey club sandwich, but many don't cook it often at home because of the high fat content and the mess. The PowerCrisp just may change all that by providing a leaner and cleaner way to make bacon. This microwave bacon cooker cooks bacon either to a crisp or a soft consistency, depending on how much cooking time it's given it in the microwave. It has a pair of tent-shaped plastic racks that are easy to load by simply draping strips of bacon over them. The racks rest within a 2-inch-deep tray, which collects all the fat drippings as bacon cooks so the meat is not sitting in its own grease as with stovetop frying. And, as opposed to pan-frying, there is no splatter involved when cooking bacon in the microwave. Simply place a paper towel over the racks and it captures any grease and keeps microwave walls clean. The wraparound handle makes it easy to remove the PowerCrisp from a microwave turntable and dispose of hot drippings without burning hands. Slotted tops on the two plastic racks allow you to slide a knife through the racks to remove cooked bacon. The PowerCrisp cooks up to 10 strips of bacon at a time and both racks and the bottom tray are completely dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. I hate cooking bacon on the stove, so this seemed like the perfect solution. Microwaving the bacon did control the odor, but it turned out very dry, and cooking the bacon took a very long time. You can only cook a few slices at a time.
It would probably be great for making bacon-bits for salads, or bacon for BLTs, but as a breakfast side, it was too dry. Clean up was very easy though.

I was a little skeptical when I went to buy this, but based on the other reviews I decided to give it a try, and boy am I gald that I did!! I love my bacon very crispy and this worked perfectly. It only takes about 60seconds per piece of bacon (in my microwave), so it's very easy to plan my breakfast. Plus, I don't have to deal with the grease splatter on my stove, which is always a huge bonus! It takes two second to put the pieces together and lay the bacon strips accros the clear plastic pieces you see in the picture. Then to wash you just dump out the grease and throw everything in the dishwasher. To store, the plastic pieces lay down flat in the black base, so it doesn't take up too much room. If you love bacon, and want an inexpensive, easy way to make it, then this product is for you.

This handy little kitchen accessory has changed cooking bacon from a chore I often avoided to a simple task. The bacon cooked up crispy, although you can adjust cooking time to suit your tastes. Using a paper towel over the bacon during cooking cuts down on splatter inside your microwave. The base catches the grease well.

I really llike this bacon cooker. Holds between six and eight peices of bacon depending on thickness. Clean up is so much easier than any other one I have tried pour the bacon fat out wipe everything off and then wash. No scrubbing like is required with the plater ones that are out there. Plan on getting more for family as gifts.
